Looking up to my cinematographer Dad, I caught the film bug early.
As a small boy I was captivated by the delicate alchemy of light and lens and I knew from a young age that a career in a cubicle would elude me.
I spent 15 years learning the ropes the hard way - instead of film school, I was schooled on set, meaning there isn't much I haven't seen a way around. Coming from a family of film fanatics, I possess an enviable fluency in all formats so nothing gets in the way of my ability to tell a story. Whether it is a 90 minute narrative or a 30 second sales pitch I can bring a unique perspective to everything I shoot.

I, Paul W.S. Anderson, have had the great fortune of working with Lars Cox many times over the past seven years on a wide variety of projects. I am well versed within the film and television industry as I have directed, produced, and written numerous #1 films. My first American box office hit was 1995’s video game adaption Mortal Kombat. Following this success, I began work on the Resident Evil series, which, as a whole, grossed over 1.2 billion dollars worldwide.
As you can imagine through my projects, I have worked with different crews all around the
world and in my opinion, Lars is a one-of-a-kind piece of talent. He is undoubtedly the best in his field and would be a true asset to any director or producer he works for.
Lars and I had the pleasure of working together when Lars was in the camera department, on my film, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. Lars, as C Camera Operator/Splinter Unit DOP, also collaborated with me on my upcoming film Monster Hunter, based on the Capcom fan favorite, set to premiere December of this year starring Milla Jovovich, Tony Jaa, and Ron Perlman.
In addition to film, he was involved in Origin, a web television series that premiered on Youtube in the fall of 2018 starring Harry Potter’s Tom Felton and Game of Thrones’ Natalia Tena. Lars has also worked alongside me with various high-end brands I’ve had the opportunity of directing award-winning commercials for, clients including Audi, VW, and PlayStation. His hard work ethic and commitment to all of the projects we’ve worked on together, have surpassed my expectations and allow me to give him the highest of recommendations.

I’m writing in support of, Lars Cox, who is hands down the finest 2nd unit Director of Photography I’ve had the opportunity to work with in my over 25 years of production in the feature film and television business.
Lars and I worked together on a TV series, “Professionals”, which I co-created and was co-showrunner of. Lars was our 2nd Unit DP on the series, which is an action-adventure series starring Brendan Fraser and Tom Welling that was primarily shot S. Africa.
I had the pleasure of working closely with Lars. I directed 31 days of 2nd Unit/ Splinter Unit on the series with Lars as my DP. Speaking as a director, Lars was a masterful DP who had an excellent grip on what was needed while working under strenuous conditions. In addition to doing 2nd Unit action scenes, we had many days of working with the lead cast doing drama and comedy scenes. All of which were expertly handled by Lars.
Lars did an excellent job of matching the series’ established lighting, shot composition, and camera movement. He made our 2nd unit action scenes look far more spectacular than what was written on the script page. Lars was also extremely fast. He got us through our days in remarkable time.
On top of all of Lars’ attributes as an excellent DP, he was an absolute joy to work with. For my future projects, Lars is on my speed dial for 2nd unit DP.

My name is Carmen Cabana and I’ve worked as a cinematographer for the past 15 years in TV productions such as Ms MARVEL, NARCOS S2, HIGH FIDELITY, RESIDENT EVIL, VIDA S1 and S2 and the upcoming DUSTER, BIG CIGAR and CITY ON FIRE as well as several independent films.
I had the pleasure to collaborate with Lars Cox on the Netflix series RESIDENT EVIL, where he worked as our A Cam Operator for all 8 episodes.
Lars is a force of nature, a true collaborator with a gifted eye and a fantastic sensibility towards storytelling. His natural instincts on where to place the camera, composition, when to introduce movement, how to accomplish a shot and where to be in the room as a human being are some of his greatest qualities. He is technically savvy, an artist behind the technocrane and well versed on not just camera equipment but also still photography, art and history.
He is a team player, he collaborates and communicates well with all departments, he is a problem solver, an active listener and very pleasant to be around. He made the cast feel comfortable and was wonderful in communicating with them regarding the shots and what was needed from them. As a cinematographer I felt well supported by him on every level.
Besides being an extraordinary operator, Lars is also an excellent cinematographer. He covered for me during a week when I had covid and I felt absolute piece of mind, knowing his work and I loved the dailies.
I had also heard positive feedback regarding his work from other colleagues.
If I could, I would LOVE to have Lars with me on every project, he is the definition of a true professional and an artist.

I am a helicopter pilot that has been involved in the filming industry since 1987. Over the last 20 years I have worked with Lars on many occasions.What has always impressed me about Lars is his ability to adapt quickly and with ease to the fast changing condition which can be encountered while doing aerial filming. This is onlypossible if one knows the capabilities of the equipment you are using, cameras, lenses mounts and helicopters.The fact that Lars is a qualified helicopter pilot is also a huge advantage as he has first hand knowledge of what he can and cannot expect from a pilot.Two recent and memorable shoots I did with Lars was filming the aerial sequences for Jungle Book, which was very technical as it all involved a lot of CG work.
